What people want from a repair shop has not really changed, whatever the device. They want to know whether the thing can be fixed, what it will cost, and whether the person holding it knows what they are doing. Most of all they want someone to be straight with them, including when the honest answer is that a repair is not worth the money.

That is the approach we take. We diagnose before quoting, because the obvious symptom is rarely the whole story. A phone that will not charge is frequently a worn cable rather than a broken port. A laptop that has become unbearably slow is often a failing drive rather than an old processor. A computer that crashes under load may simply be full of dust. Working that out costs a few minutes and saves people from paying for the wrong repair.

Data recovery is where that honesty matters most. When someone brings in a drive holding the only copy of their photographs, the worst thing we could do is take the work on false hope. We will tell you what we find and what the realistic outlook is before you commit to anything.

We are a physical store, not a mail-in service. Your device does not get posted to a processing centre in another state; it stays here, and you can talk to the person who looked at it. For a lot of our customers that is the whole point.
