Computer & Laptop Repair in Philadelphia, PA

Slow, crashing, overheating or refusing to start — diagnosed properly.

A computer that has become slow, noisy or unreliable is usually telling you something specific, and the useful first step is finding out what. The same symptoms — sluggishness, heat, crashing — come from very different causes, and the fix for one will do nothing for another.

A machine that is thermally throttling because its fans are packed with dust behaves much like one whose drive is failing. Replacing the wrong component costs money and fixes nothing, which is why we work out what is actually wrong before recommending anything.

What we do

How a computer & laptop repair works

  1. Step 1: Diagnosis first

We check the hardware — drive health, memory, temperatures, power delivery — and look at whether the problem is actually software before touching any parts.

  2. Step 2: Options explained before any work

We tell you what the machine needs, what it will cost, and whether it is worth doing. Sometimes the honest answer is that it is not.

  3. Step 3: The repair

Component replacement, thermal cleaning and repaste, drive or memory upgrades, or a software repair, depending on what the diagnosis found.

  4. Step 4: Testing under load

We verify the machine behaves under sustained use, not just that it switches on — intermittent faults hide from a thirty-second check.

Before you come in

How to prepare

A few minutes of preparation makes the whole thing quicker.

  • Back up anything irreplaceable before bringing the machine in, if it still boots.
  • Bring the charger — a machine that will not power on is sometimes the charger, not the laptop.
  • Know your login password. We may need it to test the machine after the repair.
  • Note when the trouble started and whether anything changed — a spill, a drop, an update.

Pricing and timing

We do not publish a single price for this service, because the cost depends on your exact device model, which components are affected and what parts are available. Repair time varies for the same reasons. You will always get a clear price before any work begins, and you can decline.

Your data and your passcode

Back up your device before any repair if you can. Some repairs need your passcode to test the device afterwards — we will ask you in person, and only when it is genuinely required. We never ask for a passcode in an online form or by email.
